    Will Smith‘s pursuit of happiness took him Down Under with Sheree Zampino.

    The Oscar winner was a long way from West Philadelphia when he shared a few laughs with his ex-wife—mom to their 33-year-old son Trey Smith—during the tail end of a trip to Australia.

    The former couple, who were married from 1992 to 1995, were all smiles as they stepped into the Sydney airport Oct. 28. Smith’s time in the Emerald City came to an end following the shoot for his upcoming action movie Supermax, a murder mystery that takes place inside the world’s most secure prison.

    As such, it’s no surprise the I Am Legend star opted for comfort on his travel day, rocking a plush blue hoodie and cozy sweatpants. For her part, the RHOBH alum mixed casual and couture, pairing a Maison Goyard tote with her all-black outfit and matching sandals.

    And as Will—also dad to Jaden, 28, and Willow, 25, with wife Jada Pinkett Smith—and Sheree have stayed close as co-parents over the years, the beauty entrepreneur has also forged a bond with the Set It Off actress.

    “Coming into this, doing the blended thing, my only requirement was that you treated my son well,” Sheree, 58, said during a 2022 episode of Jada’s Red Table Talk. “You did that. And your heart was always right towards him, wanting the best for him.”

    But that doesn’t mean their relationship went off without a hitch. As Jada put it, it did take her some time to understand Sheree and Will’s co-parenting dynamic.

    “For me, it really was just about maturity,” the 55-year-old said. “Not understanding the marital dynamic. Like, ‘OK, if divorce papers are sent and people are over it, then this is done.’ Guess what? It ain’t never done.”

    She added, “So, that was my biggest misconception.”

    Jada—who is still legally married to Will but shared in 2023 that they’d been separated for years—also confessed there was a time when overstepping with her stepson, Trey, made a tough dynamic worse.

    “I can remember some times that I really crossed the line,” she admitted in 2022. “It was a lot of intertwining, and it got kind of messy.”

    But with learning to respect each other’s boundaries over time, a family foundation formed out of the tension. As the Matrix alum put it, “We were able to have difficult conversations, we were able to own up.”
