Watch: Tyler Cameron Addresses “Real Human Moment” He Stormed Off-Camera on ‘Dancing With the Stars’
One Dancing With the Stars contestant had some issues breaking free of his pants.
For the show’s Disney episode on Nov. 2, contestants Ezra Frech, Connor Wood, Jenna Dewan and Harry Shum Jr. banded together for a team dance set to High School Musical—which ended in spectacular fashion as the men ripped off their pants to spell out “D-W-T-S” on their underwear.
Although the routine certainly helped them bop to the top of the leaderboard with perfect 10s, Frech revealed that Wood had a mishap during rehearsals that would’ve been disastrous had it happened during the final performance.
“We did the dance in camera blocking,” he told E! News in an exclusive interview. “We practiced in these rip-away pants, so that when the show would come, we felt comfortable. And so we all ripped our pants off, did the ending, and Connor still had his pants on.”
So, what happened? As Frech recalled, “He’s like, ‘Oh, I forgot I had the rip-away pants on.'”
The Paralympian’s partner Daniella Karagach explained how they were all in it together to help the comedian with his cue: “So we’re all yelling the next round, we’re like, ‘Connor! Pants!'”
Fortunately, the reminder helped Wood get his head in the game.
“It worked,” Frech added. “He’s so funny. Genuinely one of the most naturally funny human beings I’ve ever met in my life.”

Well, the Wildcats definitely didn’t stick to the status quo with their team dance—and they have Shum’s partner Jenna Johnson to thank for the idea of stripping down onstage.
“Jenna was like, ‘I think we should do rip-aways,'” Karagach told E!. “Genius.”
In addition to starting something new with the HSM routine, Frech and Karagach were also proud of their individual dance, performing a samba to “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid.
“The limits we sometimes place on ourselves are—they’re self they’re self imposed limits,” Frech explained. “For us, like we literally thought this was off the table. No way we could do a samba. And the more she understood the mechanics of the prosthetic, the more comfortable we felt with each other, and the more we just tried things, we’re like, maybe we could make this happen.”
“So, for it to come full circle, for us to put together that dance,” the 21-year-old added, “I can’t believe that happened.”
