Watch: ‘Ghost Hunters’ Steve Gonsalves Shares the Scariest Paranormal Moment He’s Ever Had
Telling ghost stories is one thing. But starring in your own? That’s another.
Over the years, several celebrities have shared their supernatural experiences. Take Jessica Chastain, for instance, who described staying in a haunted house in London while filming the 2016 movie The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
“We were doing a lot of night scenes,” the Oscar winner said on an episode of The Late Late Show that year. “And I came home at, like, 3:30 in the morning and I was tired. I had everything blacked out, the lights, and I had the one chandelier on a little bit. And as I started taking my clothes off to put my pajamas on, the lights started to dim. And I thought, ‘OK, I might be having a stroke.'”
However, Jessica quickly realized that wasn’t the case.
“Then every light in the room—even the bedside tables—slowly started to go on,” she continued. “Swear to God!”
The Interstellar actress said she then heard a loud noise like she was on an “alien spaceship” and saw a white light before everything went “pitch black.”
“I said, ‘I understand you are here, and I don’t want to kick you out. I’m just very tired so please let me sleep,’” she added. “It never happened again.”

Sting, meanwhile, has detailed his own eerie encounter—at his very own home.
“I live in a 16th century manor house in England near Stonehenge,” the Police frontman told James Corden on another episode of his late-night show in 2017. “And if you haven’t got a ghost in a 16th century manor house, you need one.”
Well, it sounds like he has one. As Sting recalled, he was in bed with his wife Trudie Styler when they saw a figure. “I woke up,” the rocker continued, “and in the corner of the room there was a woman standing with a baby.”
The mysterious being soon vanished, but it proved to be a pivotal moment for Sting.
“And then she disappeared,” he added. “I never believed in ghosts before that.”
