Watch: The Kardashian-Jenners’ Halloween Party Is Worthy of the Witch and Famous
Sid and Nancy, Gomez and Morticia, Vincent and Mia, Shrek and Fiona…
Basically, the possibilities are endless when it comes to classic Halloween couples’ costumes. And by the time spooky season rolls around each year, there are also countless of-the-moment ideas to rip from pop culture for a fresh—but hopefully still identifiable—take on dressing up.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, for instance, invoked Love Island singles last year on Live! With Kelly and Mark, the long-married duo leaning into the show du jour but keeping it safe for work by donning T-shirts with respective bikini and muscle-bound illustrations rather than actual skimpy beach wear.
There are couples who draw inspiration from classic films—Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. have channeled the stars of Dirty Dancing, Back to the Future and The Royal Tenenbaums—while some celebrities can’t help but be inspired by each other, such as when Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka were dead ringers for the Olsen twins in 2019, while Ciara and Russell Wilson went “Ape S–t” as Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
Then there’s Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, who specialize in dressing as devoted duos, going as The Nightmare Before Christmas couple Sally and Jack Skellington last year and Morticia and Gomez Addams in 2024.
They’re also known to make a week of it, such as in 2021 when they dressed as tragic punk rocker Sid Vicious and his mortal beloved Nancy Spungen, then as Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette‘s True Romance lovers Sid and Alabama, before capping off the season as iconic Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder characters, Edward Scissorhands and Kim Boggs.

Meanwhile, it’s so sweet that Heidi Klum found a mate as into All Hallows’ Eve as she is, going incognito with husband Tom Kaulitz as Fiona and Shrek in 2018. But that was low-maintenance compared to 2024, when they both went as E.T. (as in, “phone home”) to Klum’s annual Halloween bash.
“It took one year to get ready,” the Project Runway host told E! News at the party. Day of, “We started at 10 a.m. this morning. We just got ready, we just came down.”
So, last year’s appearance as Medusa and a warrior she turned to stone was low maintenance by comparison, as it only took five months of preparation and 10 hours to assemble on the day of.
“This year wasn’t that difficult,” Kaulitz told E! at the event, though Klum noted that “about 15 people” worked on their hand-painted costumes, doing “a fantastic job.”
And they’ve already teased what’s cooking for this year, and it looks gross. In a good way, of course.
Pass the time until it gets dark—and maybe get some last-minute inspiration—by checking out the best celebrity couple Halloween costumes of all time:
