The New York Mets have been facing staggering losses since last year. Their elimination from playoff contention this year has only added fuel to the fire. Amid all this, outfielder Soto boldly urged the front office to spend as much money as they can to hire top-tier talent to add muscle to the roster. According to a Mets outlet on X, Soto said:
“We should go and get as much as we can; we need as much help as we can get. It was a really tough year for us, so I think we have got to go out there and grab as much as we can,” he said.

Juan Soto took responsibility for the Mets’ disappointing 2026 campaign and personally felt responsible for the team’s struggles. According to the New York Post, Soto said:
“It’s definitely not what I imagined in my head,” he said. “There is nothing I can do other than blame myself. I have got to be better. I have got to be at the level to take us forward.”
Soto added:
“We have a young core, and we have got to maintain that young core and encourage them in the right way, the right path for the future. I think we are going in the right direction.”
