Watch: Kim Kardashian Reveals Advice Grandma MJ Gave Her During Kris Humphries Divorce
At first, Kim Kardashian was all about keeping her health issues close to the chest.
As The Kardashians star recently shared, she was diagnosed with esophagitis—swelling, inflammation or irritation of the lining of the esophagus—after a stretch of feeling more under the weather than usual.
“I’ve been feeling a little off lately,” Kim explained during the show’s Oct. 29 episode. “So, I’ve seen a couple of doctors, and it’s been heavy on my mind lately.”
And that’s where it would stay, even after Kim’s doctor—who shared the results virtually—noted she would have to come in for next steps including medication and further procedures.
“I haven’t really told too many people about this just because I think it’s something that really hits home for me,” she continued, referencing her dad Robert Kardashian Sr.’s 2003 death, just two months after the 59-year-old was diagnosed with cancer. “I just don’t really want to go there with my dad having passed away from esophagus cancer.”
In an ideal world, continued the mom of four, “Hopefully I can just take medication, and this will go away. But I just don’t know what’s gonna happen.”
A preview of the next episode revealed that Kim will have to take on a surgical procedure.

And the entrepreneur’s esophagitis diagnosis comes exactly one year after she opened up about another nerve-wracking health issue with doctors discovering a small brain aneurysm.
“I did go and get a Prenuvo scan,” Kim shared during an October 2025 appearance on Good Morning America. “And I had to end up going and getting tons of other brain scans at Cedars-Sinai [Medical Center] with all the team.”
Fortunately, the SKIMS founder—who shares kids North West, 13, Saint West, 10, Chicago West, 8 and Psalm West, 7, with ex Kanye “Ye” West—explained, “Everything works out.”
“It’s just a good measure to go make sure that you always check everything,” she noted at the time. “And health is wealth, and you have to be careful with everything that you do.”
