Watch: Jason Kelce Is Unrecognizable Without a Beard in Resurfaced Photos
Jason Kelce is bringing the push tush to the ring.
Two years after retiring from the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles alum tried his hand at sumo wrestling against three champion rikishi, including the 540-pound Ichinojo Takashi.
And that also meant stripping down in order to wear the tradition mawashi, a loincloth sported by sumo wrestlers.
“My belly is a little bit amped up,” the 38-year-old admitted on the Oct. 27 episode of his Kelce Versus video series. “I’ve been eating a lot of ice cream this summer.”
Kelce also acknowledged that his body isn’t as limber as it used to be, quipping as he stretched out his inner thigh, “Is it normal to sweat this much?”
“You’ve got good flexibility,” he told former sumo wrestler Nasanjargal “Zorig” Chinzorig while trying to maintain his balance. “I feel very open to my hips, that’s for sure.”
And when Kelce struggled with pushing a massive tire as part of his workout, prompting Zorig to help him, the former football player joked as he caught his breath, “OK, that’s embarrassing.”
So, how did Kelce fare? He scored one win out of eight rounds.
“Wouldn’t have won a Super Bowl at this, but I’m calling this a success,” he said. “There is some definite carryover. You have to stay low, get the hands inside, never stop moving your feet, maintain your balance.”
Indeed, Kelce’s body has gone through some changes since hanging up his helmet. After all, he lost 30 pounds in the years after his retirement.
“Right now, I’m about 277. I’m almost 20 pounds down right now,” Kelce told GQ in 2024. “It’s hard to imagine another nearly 20 pounds coming off, being honest with you. But my back already feels better. My knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children.”

But Kelce—who shares daughters Wyatt, 7, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley, 18 months, with wife Kylie Kelce—noted that he doesn’t want to get “too small.”
“I’ll still be big and be happy with the way I look without having a six-pack,” he added. “But I’ll still be able to have that stature a little bit.”
