The event, which returns to the Vancouver Convention Centre from Oct. 15 to 18, will feature more than 200 exhibitors and bring together industry experts, products and resources across home improvement and design, fashion, wellness and food.

The overarching theme of this year’s show, says coordinator Madelyne Lemieux, is the creation of spaces that help us live better.

“Whether that means renovating, improving energy efficiency, enhancing wellness or updating your decor, the show is focused on helping people build homes that support their lifestyle,” she says.

Presentations on the Sleep Country Main Stage

HGTV fan-favourite Sarah Baeumler will headline the main stage with interactive Q&A sessions on Oct. 15 and 16. In keeping with this year’s theme, the interior design expert will share practical advice for homeowners on how to make their spaces feel calmer, healthier and more personal.

“I’m going to talk about what it’s like to design for real life — for family routines, busy schedules and the messiness of everyday life — while designing with the idea of a calmer routine in mind,” she says.

Also returning to the main stage are sleep expert Neil Harding, who will share advice on sleep health, and My House Design/Build Team’s Graeme Huguet, who will offer advice on making design and renovation projects more approachable and achievable.

The Healthy Home

One of the most anticipated highlights of this year’s show is the Healthy Home feature, inspired by Sarah Baeumler. A series of curated room vignettes will showcase simple strategies for improving sleep, reducing stress and creating a home that supports overall well-being.

“We’re going to talk about things like lighting choices, colour choices, air quality and materials in the home,” she says. “And even just daily organization and routines.”

The YMCA Health and Recreation Zone

The YMCA Health and Recreation Zone will put the focus on “movement, mindfulness and overall well-being,” Lemieux says. The interactive space will give visitors a chance to take part in demonstrations and pick up practical tips for incorporating healthy habits into their lives.

Fashion lovers can check out loungewear, dresses, knitwear and seasonal pieces at the show’s first-ever Smash + Tess pop-up. The B.C.-based, woman-owned clothing brand will also host a fashion show on the main stage on Oct. 17, “reflecting the idea that how we live extends beyond our homes,” Lemieux says.
