Watch: Joe Jonas Gives Rare Coparenting with Sophie Turner Update
Sophie Turner misses that vitamin D lifestyle.
Since moving back to the U.K. in 2023 following her split from Joe Jonas—with whom she shares kids Willa, 6, and Delphine, 4—the Game of Thrones alum admitted she’s much happier in her home country, except for just one thing.
“No, I don’t miss living in America,” Turner told The Sunday Morning Herald in an interview published Aug. 9. “I do miss the sun, but that’s it.”
In fact, the 30-year-old was delighted to be once again surrounded by all her favorites from home like “sarcasm, baked beans on toast, Jaffa Cakes and British chocolate.”
“The thing that I missed the most was pub culture,” she added, “especially in spring, when the pubs are rammed and people are spilling out onto the streets and it is all so joyful. I love that gathering of people.”
“New York has it, of course,” Turner explained, “but when I lived in L.A., you’d have to drive everywhere. I missed just wandering down the street and seeing a bunch of people chatting at the pub. To me, that’s England.”
And being back in London helped her work through some of the isolation she felt while living in America, as did her acting roles.
“It is like a catharsis,” Turner said. “I need to do it creatively to process what’s been going on in my life, and to expel something from me.”

In addition to moving countries, the Tomb Raider star is also glad to be saying goodbye to her 20s, which saw her and Jonas file for divorce in September 2023 before their shared custody agreement and split were finalized in 2024.
“All my best friends are my age and we went to school together and we’re having a year of 30th birthdays—we’re just so happy to be out of the mess of our 20s,” Turner added. “Each of us has had a mini breakdown but we all feel really positive now. I was very ready to leave that decade of my life behind.”
