Watch: Ciara, Russell Wilson’s Kids Future and Sienna Detail Career Plans in Adorable Interview
Russell Wilson is changing it up for his next big play.
The NFL quarterback will join CBS Sports as an analyst on its Sunday pregame show for the upcoming football season, ESPN and the NFL reported.
Wilson—who has not officially retired from the league—will reportedly replace Matt Ryan on the broadcast panel that includes James Brown, Nate Burleson and Bill Cowher as Ryan returns to the Atlanta Falcons as the team’s president of football.
The 37-year-old had previously revealed he had received an offer from the New York Jets to be a backup quarterback for starting QB Geno Smith and visited with the team last month to explore joining the organization after playing for the New York Giants for a season.
“It was great,” Wilson told The New York Post after the visit on May 6. “They offered me, and I’m trying to figure out what the next best thing is for me to do. I still know I can play ball at a high level, but I also have the opportunity to do TV, so we’ll see what happens.”
The Seattle Seahawks alum—who shares Sienna, 9, Win, 5, and Amora, 2, with wife Ciara, and is stepdad to Future Zahir, 11, who Ciara shares with ex Future—also alluded to his broadcasting gig at the time.
“There’s a lot of great networks and obviously it’s a great opportunity for me,” he teased. “We’ll see what happens. You know, I’m excited. I just love football. I love ball, being in it in every way, staying ready to play, too.”

“I’d be really happy going there in the future,” the 11-year-old told E! News in March. “I had a really good time going there with my dad. It was just a really good experience for me and him.”
Wilson approved of Future Zahir’s interest and noted that he undoubtedly has a “bright future” ahead of him regardless of the path he ultimately chooses.

“I think the cool part with sports nowadays is that kids get recruited and looked at early,” he explained to E! “So, to be able to take him to a school where he would dream about playing? He’s so talented. He’s so good at basketball, football, and baseball.”
