Real Madrid’s aggressive summer transfer strategy shows no signs of slowing down, with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez now emerging as the club’s next major target.
Having already strengthened multiple areas of the squad, the Spanish giants are now preparing to intensify their pursuit of the Argentine international.

In that regard, according to Ben Jacobs, Real Madrid are preparing to open discussions with Chelsea over the Argentine midfielder, although any potential deal is expected to be far from straightforward.
The journalist mentions that Chelsea value Fernandez at around £120 million and have no intention of allowing one of their key players to leave on the cheap.
The London club remain relaxed about the situation due to his long-term contract and would have no issue keeping the midfielder at Stamford Bridge if their valuation is not met.
Despite Chelsea’s position, however, the situation has become increasingly interesting due to the player’s desire to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The report claims Fernandez is open to joining Real Madrid and has made a transfer to the Spanish capital a priority.
His agent, Javier Pastore, is also said to be actively exploring a pathway that could make the move possible during the current transfer window.
That development is likely to encourage Real Madrid, who have already demonstrated a willingness to spend heavily after attempting to secure high-profile signings earlier in the summer.
From Chelsea’s perspective, there is little pressure to sell, as Fernandez remains one of the centrepieces of the club’s project and is viewed as a player capable of leading the midfield for many years.

However, transfer stories involving Real Madrid often take on a life of their own once the Spanish giants become seriously involved.
Reports suggesting that Fernandez wants the move could eventually place Chelsea in a difficult position, particularly if the player continues pushing for a transfer behind the scenes.

Adding further intrigue to the story are claims that an agreement in principle has already been reached between Fernandez and Real Madrid regarding personal terms.
The proposed contract would reportedly keep the Argentine at the Bernabeu until 2032.

Real Madrid’s interest makes perfect sense when viewed through the lens of squad planning.
While the club already possess one of Europe’s strongest midfield units, Fernandez offers a different profile that could elevate the team even further.
However, the biggest obstacle remains Chelsea’s valuation. A fee in the region of £120 million would place Fernandez among the most expensive signings in Real Madrid history.
Yet recent transfer activity suggests the club are not afraid to think big when the right opportunity presents itself.
