The Baltimore Ravens escaped their trip to Brazil with a 34-31 win over the Dallas Cowboys in a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair. Tyler Loop‘s game-winning field goal from 56 yards out gave the Ravens a last-second edge with no time remaining. Here are the Baltimore Beatdown staff’s reactions to the victory in Week 3.
Just an incredible game and one that might do wonders for the Ravens confidence moving forward. The classic script was unfolding once again as the Ravens witnessed a double-digit lead evaporate in the fourth quarter. At the end of the game, it looked like they were once again going to fall victim to a controversial call as Nate Wiggins was flagged for pass interference on CeeDee Lamb although it was Lamb who had Wiggins’ arm pinned. Then, with just seven seconds left, Lamar Jackson miraculously hit Zay Flowers to set up Tyler Loop for the game winning 56-yard field goal. The performance from the defense was inconsistent again, but ultimately, they managed to hold down the fort when they needed to. The center position is also in complete flux right now and will be something to monitor moving forward. It’s certainly not a perfect product but these are games the Ravens have consistently lost over the last five years, and it feels great to finally be on the winning side. — Stephen Bopst
I have no idea what I just watched. A classic Ravens 4th quarter collapse where the Ravens were stuffed on the goal line, allowed a 96-yard touchdown the Cowboys with practically zero resistance than punted immediately after. Then things shifted. A Ravens touchdown drive, the defense holds the Cowboys to a field goal despite a terribly missed OPI call that was instead a DPI. Then with 6-seconds remaining, Lamar Jackson magic. A 27-yard strike to Zay Flowers, who was somehow playing on this terrible field. Then the first clutch moment of hopefully many for Tyler Loop. Redemption at 56-yards. Ravens win.

This team still clearly has problems in the fourth quarter. The defense still clearly has issues. The offensive line might have a massive issue with all three centers hurt. This team could still turn out to be bad when the season is over. But for now, they went into Brazil, pulled off a heist, stole the win, and booked it out like it was Fast and Furious 5. — Zach Canter
Fans in Brazil were treated to an incredible game. The Ravens somehow, someway pulled out the victory after a bogus pass interference call seemed to doom them at the end. Tyler Loop’s redemption is here and it is magnificent. You have to hope that pulling this game out will help this team’s mentality going forward after nearly blowing another game in which they had a double-digit lead. There are some massive concerns still, most notably at center after both Jovaugn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic left the game with injuries. I am not sure what Baltimore will do at the position if both players are out for extended time. Zay Flowers showed why he is so vital to this offense in this game after missing Week 2 as he made multiple big plays, including the final catch to set up the Loop field goal. — Dustin Cox
