The New York Yankees have been a mess lately, especially defensively.
The sputtering Yankees have lost 12 of their last 15 games, including nine of their last 10. Their offense has disappeared without Aaron Judge, averaging just 2.8 runs per game over their last 17 contests.

While the Bronx Bombers have fallen off a cliff at the plate, they’ve collapsed in the field as well. New York has committed a staggering 20 errors in its last 15 games, contributing to 29 unearned runs during that stretch.
According to Katie Sharp, that’s the most unearned runs allowed by the Yankees in a 15-game stretch since 1935.
New York’s shaky fielding cost the team again in Sunday’s 6-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins at Yankee Stadium. Anthony Volpe dropped a grounder in the top of the sixth, leading to two unearned runs.
