The Washington Commanders started horribly, but the Eagles were bad longer, as Washington defeated Philadelphia 27-10 at Northwest Stadium in a Week 8 contest between NFC East rivals.

Here are some of the quick facts from the Commanders‘ second victory of the 2026 season.

    • The Commanders came into the game giving up 18 touchdowns on 22 opponents’ drives into the red zone; the worst in the NFL.

    • The Eagles came into the game on a five-game losing streak, after starting 2026 2-0.

    • The Commanders entered the game with the NFL’s lowest third-down conversion rate, at just 31%. Sunday, Washington converted only 5 of 13 third downs.

    • The Eagles entered this game with a largely beat-up offense. As a result, they only produced 3.9 yards per play, while Washington produced 5.9 per play.

    • In the first quarter, the Eagles were bad, but the Commanders were even worse. Washington’s first three possessions produced only one first down, 10 plays, 36 yards, and zero points. Their next four possessions resulted in 27 plays, 149 yards, 9 first downs, and 13 points.

    • Eagles QB Tanner McKee was sacked five times: once each by Commanders’ Shy Tuttle, Dorance Armstrong, K’Lavon Chaisson, Charles Omenihu and Odafe Oweh.

    • Commanders rookie Kicker Drew Stevens made four of five field goals, including a 56-yarder. His miss was from 55 yards.

    • Penalties were still a problem for the Commanders as they lost 70 yards on nine penalties.

    • Commanders QB Jayden Daniels was 16 for 29 and 217 passing yards, including a touchdown pass and no interceptions.

    • The Washington defense produced 9 tackles for a loss, led by Shy Tuttle with two.

    • The Commanders out-rushed the Eagles 135-91, led by Rachaad White (11-55).

    • Without Terry McLaurin, the Commanders were led by Treylon Burks (3-81), Antonio Williams (5-54), Stefon Diggs (3-38), and Chig Okonkwo (2-32).

    • Luke McCaffrey had a kickoff return for 44 yards and a punt return for 27 yards.

    • The Commanders are now in third place at 2-4-1, while the Eagles fell to last in the NFC East at 2-6.
