Watch: Prince William, Kate Middleton Share Royally Adorable Baby Photo of Prince Louis for Halloween
Prince Louis is taking the crown for most adorable throwback pic.
Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a never-before-seen photo of their 8-year-old son in honor of Halloween, marking the first time the couple has recognized the holiday on social media.
But there was nothing scary about the royally sweet snap as the then-toddler—dressed in a blue raincoat, jeans and red boots—crouched down in a garden to lift up a pumpkin the size of his whole body.
“Happy Halloween!” the Prince and Princess of Wales captioned the photo on their shared Instagram account Oct. 31. “Prince Louis, aged 1, photographed by The Princess of Wales.”
But it wouldn’t be the only photo of Louis to reign supreme as of late. After all, he twinned beside his sister Princess Charlotte, 11, in a navy top and jeans as the whole family celebrated Mountain Rescue Awareness Day.
“We send our heartfelt thanks to all those who volunteer their time and expertise to keep people safe in some of our most beautiful but challenging landscapes,” William and Kate wrote in a recent post on Instagram. “Through our connection with this remarkable organization, we have seen first-hand the dedication, professionalism and compassion that define their work.”
And they weren’t the only young royals standing out in the pic. In fact, William and Kate’s eldest son Prince George, 13, proved he’s officially hit his growth spurt as he stood tall beside his dad in a green polo shirt, blue jeans and walking shoes.
But posing with pumpkins for spooky season and getting out into nature are just a few ways William and Kate, both 44, try to give their kids a “relatively normal home life.”
“Getting the balance of work and family life right is really important,” William told Eugene Levy on his Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveler in October 2025. “Because, for me, the most important thing in my life is family, and everything is about the future and about if you don’t start the children off now with a happy, healthy, stable home, I feel you’re setting them up for a bit of a hard time and a fall.”
As for where he adopted the philosophy when it comes to his personal life? Well, that’s thanks to his late mother Princess Diana.
“I think it’s really important that that atmosphere is created at home,” he explained. “You have to have that warmth, that feeling of safety, security, love. That all has to be there, and that was certainly part of my childhood.”
