“Purdue felt right for me from the first time I visited and saw the Cradle of Quarterbacks,” Sloan said. “It made me think that I could be the next one if I work hard and stay committed. I also love how they focus on developing their quarterbacks and have stayed committed to Ryan Browne instead of just going to the transfer portal. The coaches, the culture, and the history of developing quarterbacks are what make Purdue special to me.
“My head coach, the first quarterback he ever had in high school was Coach Hinshaw the QB coach.”
As a junior Sloan has completed 64 percent of his passes for 749 yards and six touchdowns to just one interception in the first six games. As a sophomore he led his team to a Sectional Championship in the state’s largest class, throwing for 1,700 yards and 13 scores.
“I think he’s going to be a great pro-style passer,” his trainer at XFactor QB Factory Anthony Morelli said. “He has a smooth motion, very intelligent and he has the size for the next level. His work ethic is really important too. He loves it, he studies, puts the time in and works on his craft. That’s the kind of kid you have to have for that level of play.”
