Watch: How Nick Cannon Celebrates Mother’s Day as Father of 12 Kids From 6 Women
Nick Cannon‘s Mother’s Day is not all that crazy as people expect it would be.
In fact, the All That alum—who is dad to 12 kids with six different women—revealed the traditional way he plans to celebrate the holiday.
“I’m spending time with my mother,” Nick, 45, shared on the May 2 episode of The TMZ Podcast. “It’s Mother’s Day. It’s not Baby Mama’s Day!”
But the comedian—who shares kids with Mariah Carey, Brittany Bell, Abby De La Rosa, Bre Tiesi, LaNisha Cole and Alyssa Scott—emphasized that he “of course” makes sure his children’s mothers feel special on the holiday by helping his kids pick out the right gifts for their moms.
“I appreciate them, but they get stuff from the kids,” Nick explained. “I try to make whatever the gift is custom [and] that the kids are a part of it, but it’s always nice. They’re not gonna get the same thing because they ain’t got the same kids.”
Whilethe Masked Singer host is aware that many people assume Mother’s Day would be a complicated holiday for him to celebrate given his situation, he said there are other occasions that are more tricky.
“Everybody always talks about, ‘Oh, man, Mother’s Day must be crazy for you,'” Nick said. “It’s not really Mother’s Day that’s crazy.”
“It’s Valentine’s Day,” he shared. “Ironically, it is Father’s Day because all the kids want to [spend time with me]. But Mother’s Day, I spend it with my mama or my grandma.”

The Wild & Out star’s remarks about his Mother’s Day plans come after he raised eyebrows over the dating rules he has for his 15-year-old daughter.
In fact, Nick—who shares daughter Monroe and son Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey—admitted he doesn’t give his daughter quite as much freedom when it comes to dating as her twin brother.
“My son has been dating,” he shared on The TMZ Podcast, “and I’ve allowed it, I encouraged it.”
As for whether he gives his daughter Monroe the same treatment, the TV personality bluntly replied, “No, absolutely not.”
“First of all, it’s absolutely a double standard,” Nick admitted, “and I know I get in trouble a lot ’cause I say things with my chest. But there is a difference when parenting a son and then when parenting a daughter.”
