Mexico soccer is looking to end a disappointing international window that saw the team held scoreless against the U.S. Soccer team.
Mexico will take on Chile to end their September-October international window that has left more questions than answers and calls growing to fire their head coach Rafa Marquez, who is winless in his first three games at the helm.

El Tri is ranked 10th in FIFA’s rankings, while Chile is ranked 52nd. Here is what to know as Mexico and Chile face off.

The Mexico-Chile game is being held at the LA Coliseum in Los Angeles, California.

It has not been a good international window for new coach Rafa Marquez and Mexico.

They have been held winless in the first three games of the September-October international window. They drew against Colombia 1-1 on Sept. 26 and again drew 1-1 with Peru on Sept. 29.
Mexico got shut out in a 3-0 defeat to archrival U.S. Soccer on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Mexico’s young star Gilberto Mora, 17, is dealing with an ankle injury and did not play against the U.S. Mora has left team Mexico to go back to his club team Club Tijuana, so he will not play against Chile, USA Today reported.

Mora has only played in one game for Mexico this international window, scoring his first-ever international goal in Mexico’s 1-1 draw with Colombia.

Marquez, a former Mexico soccer player legend, is already facing heat from fans just three games into his national team coaching career.
“The falls are hard. It hurts to lose, especially like that,” Marquez said in a news conference after losing to U.S. Soccer, USA Today reported. “They were more gifts than correct moves from the opponent. I have to be positive, see positive things, trying for us to make as few errors as possible in the next game.”

Mexico is the favorite to win against Chile, and a victory will set up the team for its quarterfinal match in the Concacaf Nations League in November. El Tri will face Jamaica in the tournament’s quarterfinals.
