Police say a man was struck and killed by a train on Friday night in Chilliwack.

RCMP reported the man was struck by a train around 9:45 p.m. on Friday. He was found under the Yale Road overpass. Emergency medical personnel confirmed the man was dead.

In January 2025, a woman was struck and killed near the same overpass. A 28-year-old Chilliwack man was also struck and killed by a train near that location in May 2025.

Fatal train accidents in the Fraser Valley occur at a frequency among the highest in Canada, according to news reports, with more than 120 people killed by trains in the past 40 years and half of those in Chilliwack.
