MIAA Meet of Champions: Clinton junior Sean Blaze finished second in the 100 with a time of 10.64 to highlight a solid showing from local athletes on the second and final day of competition at Merrimack College on Saturday.

On Thursday, Blaze took third in the 200 (21.84) to qualify in both events for the New England Championships, which will take place on June 13 at Noble High School in North Berwick, Maine. The top six finishers in each event qualify for the New England meet.
Other strong local finishes included Millbury’s Jayden Delaleu, who took third in the high jump at 6-6, while Worcester Tech’s Gershom Opoku took ninth (6-4).
Hopedale’s Ari Levine placed fourth in the shot put (57-1.5) and Doherty’s Ayden Collins placed 12th (50-8.25) and Narragansett’s Jordan Baumann was fifth in the 110 hurdles (14.73).
Wachusett senior Amani Mbugua was seventh in the 400 (49.21) and Groton-Dunstable junior Andrew Kosiba was eighth in the mile (4:18.85), while Parker’s Nathaniel Henshaw (4:19.84) took 11th.

Groton-Dunstable senior Alexander Crouse was eighth in the javelin (165-6) and Blackstone-Millville’s Jackson Dunton placed 11th (158-5) and Nashoba’s Brady Mignault was 15th (155-5).
Westborough senior Dylan Hosein was the top local finisher in the pole vault, taking ninth at 12-6. The Rangers also had senior Aidan Lawyer (12th, 12-6) and Gerald Qiu (14th, 12-0) perform well.
Worcester Tech’s 400 relay team of Sonset Mas-Oud, Wellington Freeman, Noah Jones and Francis Manneh placed 11th (43.31) and Eagles’ Joel Rodriguez, Nana Brempong, Emmanuel Mireku and Kayden Grey placed eighth in the 1,600 relay (3:25.61), besting St. John’s group of Daniel Toland, Patrick Reine, Srikar Choudary Adusumilli and Rory Andrew that took 14th (3:27.77).

Blackstone-Millville sophomore Abigail Bilodeau placed fourth in the 400 (56.67). Algonquin’s Tanvi Mehta was 13th (58.92).
Ayer-Shirley senior Lorelai Levy placed fifth in the 100 hurdles with a school-record time of 14.85.

Westborough’s Al Regnier, who won the pentathlon on Thursday, was sixth in the long jump (18-9.25), topping Wachusett’s Stella Morneault (ninth, 18-6) for the top local finish.
Central Mass. had a strong showing in the 100, as Fitchburg sophomore Jayzelle Florival was fifth (12.28), Wachusett freshman Terry Kwarteng was sixth (12.34), Ayer-Shirley freshman Roxanne McKenzie placed seventh (12.39) and Tantasqua senior Keoni Savoie was eighth (12.42).
Whitinsville Christian junior Abby Flagg was 10th in the mile (5:01.42), besting Groton-Dunstable senior Meghan McEleney (13th, 5:03.81) and her twin sister Emily Flagg (14th, 5:03.86) for the top local finish.
Ayer-Shirley’s 400 relay team of J’Aliyah Mayes, Abbigail Stull, Lauren Gaudet and Roxane McKenzie was sixth (49.26), Westborough’s quartet of Regnier, Joshikaa Nandgiri, Imani Curran and Ashley Wegiel took eighth in a school record time of 49.55 and the Wachusett foursome of Morneault, Lisa Fagboore, Paige Dailey and Kwarteng was 12th (49.99).

Wachusett’s 1,600 relay team of Madison Benson, Witt, Elena Annunziata and Annika Kindorf placed sixth (4:00.75), while AMSA’s Miliana Milatovic, Maya Jenkins, Jalila Menkari and Elizabeth Zickus placed 12th (4:02.80) and Algonquin’s Isabella Wu, Hadley Anglim, Ciara O’Sullivan and Mehta took 14th (4:06.25).
Wachusett’s 3,200 relay team of Annika Kindorf, Mackenzy Perry, Hadley Castellani-Heller and Naomi Witt took 10th (9:34.53).
Douglas senior Madelyn Greenough was first in the shot put para ambulatory division with a toss of 12-10.50, while Notre Dame Academy junior Madelyn Wilson won the 1 mile (5:33.27) and the 400 (1:19.18). in the wheelchair divisions.
