Watch: Kelly Rowland Reacts to Blue Ivy’s Musical Talent After Appearance at Jay-Z Show
Kelly Rowland doesn’t have to say her name—Blue Ivy’s talent precedes her.
Though the “Motivation” singer joined Destiny’s Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Beyoncé to see Jay-Z take the stage on Oct. 23, for her the piano performance by Bey and Jay’s 14-year-old more than stole the show.
“She’s so talented,” Kelly told E! News in an exclusive interview at the Airbnb.org Gala Oct. 28. “She’s just so talented. Beyond words.”
As for how the former girl group faired in taking in the show celebrating the 30th anniversary of Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt?
“We just had a good girls’ night out,” the 45-year-old teased. “We were just having a beautiful evening and grateful to be able to share just time and space with family ‘cause that’s what it really is all about.”
Videos shared on social media proved that the suite where Kelly, Michelle and Beyoncé took in Jay-Z’s show might as well have been the club at 11:30, as the trio were seen jamming out to every song—especially during Blue’s performances with her dad to “The Story of OJ” and “Dead Presidents.”
But while the evening certainly catered 2 fans, Kelly wasn’t going to say whether the girl group’s night out was teasing something more.
“We don’t know,” she said. “We shall see.”
Indeed, the Mea Culpa actress proved she’s leaving no writing on the wall when it comes to her industry pals—especially where Jay-Z’s upcoming Super Bowl 2027 performance is concerned.
“That’s going to be great,” she added. “It’s not my performance to tell so you won’t get a peep out of me.”

Trust, Kelly—mom to Titan, 11, and Noah, 5, with husband Tim Weatherspoon—also didn’t leave her man at home for the evening. And though she and Tim enjoyed a parents’ night out, she emphasized that her presence at the travel company’s gala only made her feel more grateful for the “safety” of home.
“It’s a sacred space,” Kelly said. “Personal. Everybody deserves that.”
Naturally, Kelly’s husband and sons are part of creating the “peace” and “calm” she feels in her own space, but there’s one more ingredient she joked she can’t live without, adding, “I do love a good candle burning.”
