Watch: Jon Batiste Cancels Several Concerts Due to “Personal Circumstances”
Jon Batiste and Suleika Jaouad’s love for each other will never go away.
After Jaouad underwent a third bone marrow transplant amid her yearslong cancer journey, Batiste shed light on how his wife was feeling by sharing photos of them together in the hospital.
“The kids doing alright today,” the Grammy winner wrote on Instagram Oct. 25 in a joint post with Jaouad, “and still madly in love.”
Indeed, the couple—who married in 2022—appeared in good spirits despite the circumstances. After all, in the sweet selfies, Jaouad and Batiste cuddled up together as they posed for the camera.
In the first shot, the writer—who had a blanket around her shoulders—leaned her chin on Batiste’s shoulder, while she gave the Late Show with Stephen Colbert alum a smooch in the second pic.
As for Batiste, while cozying up to his wife in the photos, he wore a surgical mask along with wired headphones in his ears.
Along with having the “It Never Went Away” singer by her side, Jaouad also has supporters from far and wide sending their love and well-wishes as she battles leukemia for the third time.
Indeed, the 38-year-old and her husband were met with hundreds of heartfelt messages from fans and celebrity friends alike in the comment section of their post.
“My heart is wright there with you both,” Sofia Carson wrote, while Sharon Stone commented, “Sending big hugs.”
Meanwhile, Maria Shriver called the post “so beautiful,” adding that she was “sending love and strength.”
The sweet update comes nearly a month after Jaouad shared she was undergoing a third bone marrow transplant.
“To put it as plainly as I can, the treatments that have been keeping the leukemia at bay are no longer doing the trick,” the Book of Alchemy author wrote in a Sept. 28 Instagram post. “I’ve known another bone marrow transplant might be in my future. I was hoping the future was in less of a hurry.”
Jaouad—who was first diagnosed with cancer in 2010, before it returned in December 2021 and again in summer of 2024—noted that although she was “scared” about her procedure, she has a “great deal of hope” and an incredible support system, including Batiste.
“I have brilliant doctors I trust with my life,” she wrote. “I have Jon, and my family, and the kind of friends who show up carrying games and flowers and inappropriate jokes. I have four dogs, two peacocks, and fourteen chickens.”
