Watch: Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt’s Son Knox Graduates High School Before Competing in Muay Thai Fight
It’s the curious case of Benjamin Button how Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s son Knox is already a high school graduate.
The 17-year-old recently celebrated the achievement with his classmates, according to a photo and video shared by an Angelina fan account. However, Knox’s new diploma wasn’t the only thing on his mind.
“Tonight, I’m gonna be fighting at Total Sonic Knockout 5 at 12:45 a.m., so catch me,” the teen told the crowd in the video about the event, which is described as a combination of martial arts and a rave. “I’m gonna knock ‘em the f–k out!”
Knox’s graduation and interest in Muay Thai are rare insights into his world. After all, the last time he made a red carpet appearance was almost two years ago, when he attended the 2024 Governor’s Awards with his mom. Before that, Knox hadn’t been photographed at a high-profile event since 2021, when he went to Eternals U.K. premiere with Angelina, his twin sister Vivienne and siblings Maddox, 24, Zahara, 21, and Shiloh, 20.
However, this may not surprise fans as the actress has noted her kids—who also include 22-year-old Pax—prefer to live a life out of the spotlight.
“None of my children want to be in front of the camera,” Angelina revealed on Good Morning America in 2024. “They’re quite private. Shiloh’s extremely private. They weren’t born with privacy. So, I hope they can have that as they grow.”
Indeed, after Knox and Vivienne were born in July 2008, Angelina and now-ex-husband Brad sold the first photos of the babies for millions of dollars and donated the money to charity.
“It’s a strange thing to have to do or to do, but it was the better option,” the Changeling star admitted at the 2025 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, recalling how the paparazzi hounded her family. “But also, it was for their safety. They were coming for it, and it was a safety concern as well. So, it was just better to control it in a safe place, in a safe way, and do something good with it—which, if you can, is much better.”
In People’s cover story about the twins, Angelina offered a peek inside life with the newborns at the Château Miraval in France.
“It is chaos,” she said at the time, “but we are managing it and having a wonderful time.”
And the Oscar winner shared how Shiloh and Zahara had already stepped in to their big sister roles. “[Shiloh] and Z pick out [the twins’] clothes and help change and hold them,” she continued. “It’s sweet—they are little mommies.”

As the kids grew older, they got more glimpses into their parents’ star-studded world. Vivienne even appeared alongside Angelina in 2014’s Maleficent, in which the little one played a young Aurora opposite her mom’s portrayal of the Sleeping Beauty villain.
“We think it’s fun for our kids to have cameos and join us on set, but not to be actors,” Angelina told British Vogue in 2014. “That’s not the goal for Brad and me at all. But the other three- and four-year-olds wouldn’t come near me. It had to be a child that liked me and wasn’t afraid of my horns and my eyes and my claws. So it had to be Viv.”
Two years later, Knox showcased his talents on the big screen when he, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh lent their voices to their mom’s animated movie Kung Fu Panda 3.
“They were kind of shy,” Angelina told Entertainment Tonight in 2016. “They don’t really want to be actors, but I didn’t want them to miss the opportunity. They came in, and they had a lot of fun with it.”

Just because the kids don’t want to be actors that doesn’t mean they don’t have a passion for the arts. On the contrary, Maddox and Pax served as production assistants on Angelina’s movie Maria, Shiloh danced in K-pop star Dayoung’s music video for “What’s a Girl to Do” and Vivienne assisted her mom in producing the Broadway musical The Outsiders.
In fact, Vivienne’s collaborative role brought back memories of someone special: her late mom Marcheline Bertrand.
“Viv reminds me of my mother in that she isn’t focused on being the center of attention but in being a support to other creatives,” Angelina told E! News in a statement. “She’s very thoughtful and serious about theatre and working hard to best understand how to contribute.”
Like her older siblings, Vivienne appeared to drop her dad’s last name when she was listed in the program as “Vivienne Jolie,” according to multiple outlets.
Her attendance at the 2024 Tony Awards marked her most recent red carpet appearance. And while the kids prefer to live a more private life, they aren’t the only ones—as Angelina has expressed her intent to move out of Los Angeles after Knox and Vivienne turn 18 in July.
“I grew up in this town,” the 51-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024. “I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave. When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety. I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here.”
As for where she’s headed? “I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia,” Angelina added. “I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world.”
