‘Her energy was just off’: Woman threw acid at friend after she kicked her out of her home
MOBILE, Ala. (TCN) — A 37-year-old woman has been sentenced to 15 years and one day in prison after being convicted of first-degree assault in connection with an acid attack on her friend last year.
According to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office, Quicheay Williams needed a place to stay, and in February 2025, her friend Jasmine Clausell allowed her to move into her home. After Williams had been there for about two weeks, Clausell asked her to leave. Williams got angry and threw a chemical onto Clausell, “causing third-degree burns from head to toe.”
Clausell told WPMIthat Williams and her dog had become homeless, and that is why she invited her to live in the home. She said, “It was just a lot of complaining, like her energy was just off. … She was doing a lot of moping around.”
Clausell said she told Williams it was time to leave after a couple of weeks and continued getting her son ready for school when she heard Williams start the microwave. Clausell said Williams “flipped” and she knew she was going to lose control.
Clausell dialed 911 after Williams reportedly threatened Clausell’s grandfather, and Williams then threw a cup of a chemical substance at Clausell. She told WPMI that the chemical substance was so strong it also burned holes in her couch and clothing.
WALA reportsClausell spent two months in the hospital recovering from the attack. In addition to severe burns that required skin grafts, she also lost hearing in her left ear and has limited vision in her left eye.
Williams was found guilty of first-degree assault in August and was sentenced to 15 years and one day in prison on Oct. 14, according to the DA.
