The FSU Seminoles (3-3, 1-2 ACC) are back on the road, playing the Miami Hurricanes in their toughest game of the season. The Seminoles have not won a road game since 2023 and are looking to snap a two-game losing streak against the Hurricanes.
While anything can happen on the football field, it will be tough for FSU to pull off the upset. Miami (5-0, 3-0), the No. 3 team in the country, is simply better at every position and has solidified itself as the top team in the ACC with a 5-0 start. They have the best offense and defense in the conference, with Heisman candidates Darian Mensah and Malachi Toney leading the offense.

The defense might not have as much star power, but their defensive front is once again excellent, and they have the ability to easily pressure the quarterback, thanks to defensive ends Marquise Lightfoot and Damon Wilson II. It will be up to FSU’s offensive line to have a good game to try and keep Ashton Daniels upright with room to work in the pocket.
The Seminoles trail Miami 33-37 all time, and the two are tied 29-29 since they started playing every year. FSU has a winning record in Miami, going 21-20.
Here are our predictions for FSU’s game against Miami.

Prediction: Miami 38, FSU 17

I don’t see this game being particularly close. Miami has one of the best run defenses in the nation, which will likely force FSU to be one-dimensional, and their offense leads the country in scoring, which is a bad matchup for an inconsistent Seminoles’ defense. Florida State will come out inspired, but Miami is just a better team.

Prediction: Miami 38, FSU 20
I think Florida State hangs around longer than the spread might suggest. Rivalry games tend to get weird, and FSU should come into this one with plenty of emotion after the way last week ended. Still, Miami feels like the safer pick right now. The Hurricanes are at home, they are the best team Norvell has faced this season, and Florida State has not shown enough consistency defensively for me to call the upset.

Prediction: Miami 67, FSU 3
Darian Mensah is playing like a Heisman-level QB, but Miami hasn’t played anyone to warrant being considered No. 3.

Prediction: Miami 45, FSU 17
These two historic rivals are not on the same level right now, and Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes will take the chance to hammer that home on Saturday night. The Seminoles have not won on the road since the 2023 season and are outmatched at every position on the field. Look for Malachi Toney and Darian Mensah to have another big game against a weak FSU secondary.
