A former Michigan State football defensive back is eyeing his chance at making his first National Football League roster.
The New England Patriots have welcomed in Malik Spencer to their facility for a free agent workout. He joined Darren Hall, another defensive back, in the workout. Clearly the Patriots are looking to add a defensive back into the mix.

Spencer was a four year safety for the Spartans, playing in the MSU secondary from 2022-2025. In 38 career games, Spencer finished with 173 tackles and two interceptions, among other stats, being one of the best members of the Spartans defense.
After his MSU career, Spencer went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, but signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent. He will now get a crack at signing with the Patriots.
