The Atlanta Falcons have completed a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for offensive tackle Wanya Morris, the team announced on Tuesday morning. As initially reported Thursday by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Falcons are sending a 2027 sixth-round pick to the Chiefs for Morris and a 2027 seventh-round selection.
The trade went through just in time for the start of mandatory minicamp. The Falcons were thin at offensive tackle after placing Storm Norton on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. Veteran right tackle Kaleb McGary retired back in April and the team acted quickly to sign former former Chiefs offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor.

Morris now gets to back up his old teammate this season in Atlanta. Taylor is the projected starter, but since he signed just a one-year deal, nothing is set in stone. Both players are solid in pass protection, which bodes well for lefty quarterbacks Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa.
