    DWTS’ Jackson Olson Explains Why All His Teeth Are Fake

    Watch: Savannah Bananas’ Jackson Olson Addresses His “Unfair Advantage” Ahead of Dancing With the Stars

    Jackson Olson’s dancing shoes aren’t his only accessory shining on the ballroom floor. 

    A week after making his Dancing With the Starsdebut on season 35 alongside professional partner Emma Slater, the baseball player addressed fan questions about his pearly white smile.

    “No, they’re not real,” Olson confirmed in a Sept. 21 TikTok. “They’re veneers, all of them.”

    As for why the Savannah Bananas baseball star updated his performance gear?

    “Three years ago, during one of my games, I got hit in the face with a baseball and broke my jaw,” he continued. “Thirty minutes later, I was in the hospital and realized my teeth were, in fact, not fine.”

    Indeed, Olson underwent jaw surgery the next day and documented his recovery experience, which also included one event that was certainly a home run. 

    “A week later, I went to a Taylor Swift concert because you guys know I was not missing that,” he shared. “And just three weeks later, I was back on the field wearing a cage on my helmet.”

    After sharing his jaw journey, Olson said he was contacted by a cosmetic dentist in Atlanta who delivered some concerning news about the future of his teeth.

    “They did X-rays and told me, even after getting surgery, my teeth were at risk of dying,” he explained. “Everything in my mouth had shifted, and I had gaps everywhere because of the impact.”

    So, the 28-year-old saw getting full-mouth veneers as his “chance for everything to get better before it got way, way worse.”

    “Sometimes in life you get thrown a curveball, or even worse, a 90-mile-an-hour pitch to the face,” he said. “But through all the adversity life throws at you, remember to stay positive, continue to live your life, and usually in return, good things will happen.”
