    Watch: Jonathan Taylor Thomas Arrested After Kicking Police Officer in Stomach

    Jonathan Taylor Thomas had a run-in with authorities. 

    The Home Improvement alum—real name Jonathan Taylor Weiss—was detained by police after an altercation at a traffic stop in Los Angeles’ West Lake Village on Sept. 21, the Los Angeles Sheriffs’ Department told E! News. 

    Officials were patrolling the area when they saw a vehicle stopped at an intersection “with a green light blocking traffic,” according to the arrest report obtained by E! Sept. 23. 

    And when deputies approached the car, in which Thomas sat in the passenger seat, they described the driver as “acting odd” and appearing “intoxicated.”

    “While field sobriety tests were being performed on the driver,” the report continued, “the passenger (Jonathan Weiss) appeared intoxicated, continually exited the vehicle and approached the deputies, distracting them from their investigation.”

    But police allege that Thomas’ uncooperative behavior didn’t end there. After police tried to detain him, they said that the 45-year-old “kicked a deputy in the stomach,” per the report.

    Ultimately, Thomas was arrested and booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station on charges of obstruction and public intoxication, while the driver of the vehicle—who was not identified in the report—was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

    Thomas does not have a representative E! News could contact for comment. 

    Just months before his arrest, Thomas—who stepped away from Hollywood in 2015—returned to the spotlight to reunite with his former Home Improvement costars Patricia Richardson and Taran Noah Smith.

    In a July 29 Instagram photo, the Lion King star sported his signature thick-rimmed glasses and a black shirt while he smiled for the camera alongside Smith. Captioning the rare moment, Richardson—who played the pair’s onscreen mom in the ’90s sitcom—wrote, “My other boys.”

    And while fans couldn’t get enough of the reunion, it’s likely not a sign that a reboot will be hitting TV screens anytime soon. After all, Tim Allen—who played the patriarch on the series—previously hinted that his onscreen sons were dealing with too much behind the scenes to give acting another shot. 

    “They keep talking about how it could move forward, but they get stuck [because] there are some personality problems right now with the boys,” Allen told US Weekly in June. “They’ve got their own issues. I always thought it would be cool if it was a story about them. That’s a little challenging right now, to put it mildly.”

    Raven-SymonéAt the age of 4, she was ridiculously cute as the scene-stealing Olivia on The Cosby Show, after which she appeared in films such as The Little Rascals, Doctor Dolittle and Doctor Dolittle 2. She landed her own beloved Disney Channel sitcom, That’s So Raven, in 2003, and while playing the psychic teen with inimitable fashion sense she also popped up on a bunch of the network’s other productions, such as The Cheetah Girls, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Kim Possible and Sonny With a Chance.Her TV work in the ensuing years after her show ended in 2007 included American Dad, Nashville, State of Georgia, The Jim Gaffigan Show, Master of None and Drunk History, and she had a recurring role on Black-ish. Raven-Symoné also spent three seasons as a co-host on The View and, in June 2020, she married Miranda Maday.
