Watch: David Harbour Breaks Silence on Reported Millie Bobby Brown Harassment Claim
David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown are on good terms.
After Brown reportedly filed a harassment and bullying claim against him while filming Stranger Things’ fifth and final season, the Hellboy actor shed light on the situation.
“It’s simple. It was just a simple rupture-and-repair thing that, once we cleared everybody out of the way and talked to each other, we’re fine,” Harbour told Variety in an interview published June 10. “Everyone nowadays is very scared of talking about things. People are very scared of being human.”
“It’s unfortunate, because I don’t know how to navigate this weird media world,” he continued. “But it was completely normal, and we adore each other and always have.”
In fact, it’s the familial bond between Brown, 22, and Harbour—who play Eleven and her adoptive father Jim Hopper, respectively—on and offscreen that allowed the duo to move past any previous misunderstandings.
“It’s a show that went on for 10 years,” the 51-year-old explained. “We worked together for 10 years during her formative teenage years, playing father and daughter. I don’t know if people have families and friends that you spend a lot of time with for 10 years—you occasionally get in arguments, disagreements.”
And from his perspective, their situation just became amplified.
“In families, it’s OK because you’re just in a disagreement and then you come back together,” he added. “The problem with a billion-dollar show is that there’s just hundreds of people who want to get involved.”

Noting news of the reported claim “came out in a weird way,” he revealed that he and Brown couldn’t be on better terms today.
“You’ll see more of me and Millie—10 years wasn’t enough,” he teased of upcoming projects with Brown. “There is a special bond there. I love her. She loves me.”
And for Brown, that feeling is mutual.
“Obviously I changed so much from Season one to Season five, and David was there through all of it,” she told the outlet in an email. “Over time, our relationship became much more collaborative creatively. When you work with someone for that many years, we could really push each other emotionally in scenes.”

“Even though the series has ended, there’s still a lot of gratitude,” she added. “Getting to share that experience with him for so many years is something I’ll always remember and value.”
And this wouldn’t be the first time Brown has sung Harbour’s praises. After all, the Enola Holmes star shared insight into the pair’s dynamic while filming their more emotional scenes together during the fifth and final season of the hit Netflix show.
“Of course I felt safe,” she said in an interview with Deadline posted on TikTok Nov. 28. “We’ve worked together for 10 years. I feel safe with everyone on that set.”
Noting her “great relationship” with Harbour, Brown described their work together as a “labor of love,” adding that the Black Widow star only helped to elevate her craft.
“It makes me wanna bring my A-game every single time I see that I’m on the call sheet working with him,” she said, “because I know he’s bringing it right back.”
