Miami enters the game ranked No. 7 in the AP Top 25 and will be playing its first home game of the season at Hard Rock Stadium. The matchup gives Florida A&M an opportunity to test itself against a Miami team with high expectations entering the 2026 season.

Florida A&M is 1-1 entering the game after splitting its first two contests. The Rattlers opened the season with a 20-7 win over Albany State, holding the Golden Rams to 163 total yards while recording 10 sacks and 16 tackles for loss in Quinn Gray Sr.’s first game as head coach.

The Rattlers then faced No. 22 South Carolina State in the Orange Blossom Classic and fell 31-13. Florida A&M was outgained 479-161 and managed only 162 passing yards, while starting quarterback Isaiah Knowles was injured and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Florida A&M will face a significant challenge against a Miami team that looked sharp on both sides of the ball in Week 1. The Hurricanes totaled 549 yards against Stanford and held the Cardinal out of the end zone and have plenty of momentum heading into their first game at home.
