    Watch: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Girlfriend Heather Milligan Make Rare Appearance at Austrian World Summit

    Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn’t terminated his commitment to a cause close to him.

    In fact, as he stepped out at the Austrian World Summit on June 16, he had longtime girlfriend Heather Milligan by his side.

    Schwarzenegger—who founded the conference in 2017 through his Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative—posed on the red carpet with Milligan and former Vice President Kamala Harris at the event in Vienna, donning a dark gray suit over a black shirt for the occasion. For her part, Milligan opted for a pop of color, wearing a light green blazer over a green shirt and white pants. 

    Since beginning their romance in 2013—two years after his breakup withMaria Shriver—Schwarzenegger and Milligan, 51, have done their best to keep their romance out of the spotlight. 

    Still, the Terminator star has been effusive in his praise for the physical therapist. 

    “I think the world of her,” the 78-year-old told People in 2023. “I love that she’s into working. She’s clearly independent. She just is driven as hell.”

    In fact, it was her work that brought them together. As Schwarzenegger explained, his surgeon promised to introduce him to “the best physical therapist” when he was recovering from shoulder surgery prior to filming 2013’s Escape Plan with Sylvester Stallone.

    “I said, ‘I got to go do this movie, and I bring a lot of punches and I have fights with Sly and I want to have my act together,'” Schwarzenegger recalled to People. “And he says, ‘There’s only one [person], it’s Heather—any athlete, I always send them to her, because she’s the only one that really knows what they’re talking about.'”

    “I went to her, and then after my therapy was finished, after I was finished with the movie, I called her back and took her out for lunch to say thank you,” he continued. “And then one thing led to the next.”

    And Schwarzenegger—who shares kids Katherine Schwarzenegger, 36, Christina Schwarzenegger, 34, Patrick Schwarzenegger, 32, and Christopher Schwarzenegger, 28 with Maria, as well as son JosephBaena, 28, with Mildred Baena—was grateful to have found Milligan, adding, “We have so many things in common.”

And while having parents in the business is great and all, he’s also credited his brother-in-law Chris with helping him nab one plum part.”I remember when Chris said, ‘Hey you know there’s this young role, Donny Mitchell, you’ll be the youngest in the platoon,”Patrick told Jimmy Kimmel in 2022 of booking a gig in the Amazon Prime Video series The Terminal List. “‘But if you want to get this role, I need you to go and try to get into character and really get this. I need you to gain 20 pounds and start tactical training, and know how they move, the body language, all this stuff.'” Having the chance to train with real-life Navy SEALs, he added, was “a dream come true.” And more pinch-me moments have followed, with the actor going on to play Saxon Ratliff on The White Lotus and Tim Tebow in FX’s American Sports Story.     Christopher Schwarzenegger & Christina SchwarzeneggerChristopher Schwarzenegger is Arnold and Maria’s youngest son together, and Christina Schwarzenegger is their youngest daughter.Born in 1997, Christopher has stayed largely out of the public eye. He is Vice Chair of the Special Olympics Founder’s Council. According to his bio, Christopher is also the Director of Development at production company Indus Valley Media. He previously worked at creative content agency Malka as well as for sportspsychologist Trevor Moawad and is a University of Michigan grad with a psychology degree.As for Christina, born in 1991, she’s an executive producer—with her past credits including the 2018 documentary Take Your Pills and 2022 doc Take Your Pills: Xanax.

    While Joseph was born in 1997, Arnold didn’t find out he was the father until much later.”I had an affair in ’96,” The Terminator alum said in his 2023 docuseries Arnold. “In the beginning, I really didn’t know. I just started kind of feeling. The older he got, the more it became clear to me, and it was then just really a matter of how do you keep this quiet? How do you keep this a secret?”While Arnold called the affair a “major failure” in his life, he noted that Joseph makes him proud.”It was wrong what I did,” he said in the doc. “But I don’t want to make Joseph feel that he’s not welcome in this world because he’s very much welcome in this world.
