Andy Cohen Shares Rare Insight Into Boyfriend’s Bond With Kids

And while Cohen and Sobieski hard-launched their romance on Instagram in July, the 58-year-old shared they met a year prior at a Fourth of July party.

“It was 11 months ago and I saw him from across the party,” he recalled on his show. “I almost didn’t go and I dragged myself out. I never get invited to gay parties in the Hamptons anymore. I was like, ‘You know what? Let me just go.’”

But after seeing Sobieski, he realized, “I got to talk to this guy. Who is this guy?”

And the pair hit it off. After all, Cohen shared that he and Sobieski “talked all night.”

Looking back, the TV personality emphasized that he knew there would be a sign when he met someone special.

“People have asked me for a long time, ‘When are you going to get a boyfriend? Why don’t you have a boyfriend?” Cohen shared. “And I have always said, ‘I will know when I meet the person.’”

“It’s always been a feeling for me,” he added, “and I am really happy to say that I met the person you guys.”

And Cohen believes his connection with Sobieski was written in the stars.

“I think definitely things happen at the right time and I don’t know that I was in a place to receive him until I did,” he told E! News in August, “and I’m so happy that I did.”
