Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has slammed the opposition over what he called a warped subliminal logic that any court case lost by an opposition party must be the handiwork of the ruling party.
In a post on his official X handle on Friday, Keyamo was reacting to the Federal High Court judgment that nullified the David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and voided the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate.
The opposition had accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and President Bola Tinubu of influencing the judgment delivered by Justice Peter Lifu.
However, Keyamo rejected the claim, saying the opposition has created a false rule for itself.
“The warped subliminal logic floating around is that it is Impossible for an opposition Party to lose a case in court; if it does, then it must be the interference of the ruling Party,” Keyamo said.
He said the ADC faction led by Mark tried to hijack a party built by Nigerians without following the party constitution.
“You cannot invade a political party owned and built by Nigerians and hijack it with the connivance of a so-called National Chairman without a prior meeting and approval of a mini National Convention or the National Executive Committee,” he said.
Keyamo said the court did not decide the case on sentiments or public outrage, but on facts and evidence.
