Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, has admitted he would have preferred both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona to lose their LaLiga clash this weekend.
Barca travel to Atletico sitting top of the league table with 30 points.
They are also two points ahead of Diego Simeone’s men, while Real are in third place with 27 points.
Mourinho has now expressed his delight that one of their title rivals will drop points this weekend.
He said: “Atletico vs Barcelona? I’d like both of them to lose.
“Unfortunately, that’s not possible. Points will inevitably be dropped, and that’s the best possible news.”
Real Madrid are away to Valencia in their own game on Saturday night.
