Watch: Why Zayn Malik Apologized to Fans During First Vegas Residency Concert
Zayn Malik is rebounding from a health scare.
On the same day his fifth album Konnakol’s was released, the 33-year-old expressed his gratitude to his fans while sharing details about his recent hospitalization.
“Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always- been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering,” Zayn said in an Instagram message to fans on April 17. “Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.”
Alongside his message, the “Pillowtalk” singer posted a photo of himself from a hospital bed, wearing a patient gown and showing his arm attached to an IV drip. And he was sure to thank his medical team for taking care of him during this difficult time.
“Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to,” he continued. “You are all legends!”
While Zayn—dad to Khai, 5, with ex Gigi Hadid—didn’t share specifics about his condition, he had canceled an album playback and Q&A session with Banquet Records just days earlier due to illness.
“I’m sorry but unfortunately I am sick and I won’t be able to make it to the UK this week as planned,” Zayn wrote in a message to ticketholders. “We’re already in the process of trying to reschedule the Banquet Q&A, and will be sharing new dates soon. Working on getting each of your info as well to send you something. Thank you for your understanding and continued love & support.”
