Zabit Magomedsharipov will finally return to competition on July 5, but it will be under grappling rules.
The retired MMA prospect has booked a 155-pound no-gi match with Raul Rosas Jr. as the main event of the upcoming ACBJJ event in Moscow, Russia. The co-headliner features UFC welterweight Rinat Fakhretdinov versus Armen Petrosyan.
Magomedsharipov was originally rumored to be facing Dan Hooker at the event, but instead, it’s Rosas who faces the former featherweight contender.

Magomedsharipov walked away from MMA in 2020 after another cancelled bout with Yair Rodriguez, ending his career with a pro record of 18-1 with six straight wins under the UFC banner. He recently revealed his decision to leave the sport was due to multiple fight cancellations and the impression that the UFC “didn’t want to make me a champion.”
The Russian talent, now 35, beat Jeremy Stephens and Calvin Kattar in his final UFC bouts in 2019.
Rosas Jr., ranked No. 13 in the official UFC bantamweight list, improved to 6-1 in the company after a decision victory over Rob Font this past March, his fifth in a row since 2023. He competed in a grappling match with Deiveson Figueiredo in Brazil, but that ended in a draw since neither could secure a submission.
