Komkrit, 31, is stabbed to death by his younger brother during a savage Lamphun row over their terminally ill mother. The killer leaves him bleeding, escapes on a red motorcycle and is hunted down by police, with a kitchen knife recovered in the area.
A furious row over their terminally ill mother ended in fratricide after a younger brother found his 31-year-old sibling drinking with friends. Police said Tor stabbed Komkrit in the chest at a Lamphun house before fleeing on a red motorcycle. Rescuers rushed the critically wounded man to hospital, but he died shortly afterwards. Officers launched an immediate road hunt, arrested Tor in Mueang Lamphun and recovered a kitchen knife. During questioning, Tor admitted attacking his brother because he was drinking instead of visiting their dying mother.

A younger brother stabbed his older brother to death after finding him drinking while their terminally ill mother lay in hospital. The bloody family row unfolded at a house in Lamphun, northern Thailand, late on Tuesday night. Police said the younger man became enraged by his brother’s absence from the hospital. Minutes later, the 31-year-old victim was fighting for his life with a deep chest wound.
At approximately 10 pm on September 1, Lamphun Industrial Estate Police Station received an urgent assault report. Investigators immediately raced to the house in Sri Don Tan, Makheua Chae subdistrict. In parallel, two local emergency organisations dispatched rescue personnel to the property. They arrived to find Komkrit, also known as Tong, critically wounded.
Police withheld Komkrit’s surname but confirmed he was 31 years old. He had suffered a severe knife wound to the left side of his chest. Consequently, emergency workers began administering first aid at the scene. They then rushed him to hospital as his condition rapidly deteriorated.

However, the emergency response could not save him. Komkrit later died because of the severity of his wound. His younger brother, identified only as Tor, had already escaped on a red motorcycle. Meanwhile, police launched an immediate operation to intercept him.
Officers broadcast details of the fleeing suspect and his motorcycle across the surrounding area. In response, police units began watching roads throughout Mueang Lamphun district. The search soon focused on the Rim Ping–Nong Tong Road. There, officers spotted Tor and brought his escape to an abrupt end.
Police apprehended the younger brother shortly after the stabbing. Moreover, they recovered a kitchen knife as evidence in the fatal attack. Police sources did not disclose exactly where officers found the weapon. Nevertheless, investigators secured it before taking Tor for initial questioning.
During questioning, Tor gave police his account of the deadly family clash. He said he had found Komkrit drinking alcohol with friends before the stabbing. At that time, their mother was receiving hospital treatment for terminal cancer. Yet Komkrit was drinking instead of visiting or caring for her.
Hospital row over terminally ill mother turns deadly as Tor stabs his older brother and races away
Tor became furious at the sight of his older brother drinking with companions. Accordingly, he challenged Komkrit over his decision to stay away from the hospital. He accused his brother of concentrating solely on alcohol. The criticism then triggered a fierce argument between the two men.
Initially, the brothers exchanged angry words over their mother’s desperate condition. Soon afterwards, the confrontation became violent. Tor armed himself with a sharp kitchen knife and attacked his older brother. The blade struck Komkrit in the left chest and inflicted the fatal wound.
Afterwards, Tor left the house and climbed onto his red motorcycle. He then fled through the Lamphun area while his brother lay seriously injured. Back at the property, emergency crews fought to stabilise Komkrit. Despite their intervention, he died after being transported to hospital.
The emergency response involved the Makheua Chae Subdistrict Emergency Operations Centre. Separately, Lamphun Highway Rescue sent personnel to help the wounded man. Police investigators also examined the property after receiving the initial assault report. Their inquiry quickly widened following confirmation of Komkrit’s death.

By then, the suspected attacker was speeding away from Sri Don Tan. Police used the motorcycle description while coordinating the road interception. Subsequently, officers located Tor on the Rim Ping–Nong Tong route in Mueang Lamphun. His arrest ended a short escape following the fatal knife attack.
During his initial statement, Tor directly linked the confrontation to their mother’s hospital treatment. He believed Komkrit should have been with her instead of drinking. Notably, the mother was suffering from terminal cancer when the brothers clashed. Her grave condition became the central issue behind the argument.
Komkrit had instead remained at the house with his drinking companions. Upon finding him there, Tor delivered an angry reprimand. From there, the family dispute rapidly descended into violence. A single severe chest wound left Komkrit beyond medical help.
Police sources did not identify any of the friends drinking with Komkrit. Furthermore, officers did not confirm whether they witnessed the stabbing. No details were released concerning their actions before or after the attack. Police also did not identify the hospital treating the brothers’ mother.
Kitchen knife becomes key evidence as Tor admits stabbing brother as police end his motorbike escape
On another front, investigators retained the recovered kitchen knife for examination. The weapon was central to the account Tor provided after his arrest. He admitted stabbing Komkrit during the violent dispute, according to police. He also acknowledged fleeing the house aboard his motorcycle.
The fatal sequence began with a confrontation over their mother’s care. Tor found his brother drinking while their terminally ill mother remained in hospital. In turn, he accused Komkrit of neglecting her and focusing on alcohol. The bitter exchange then ended with a knife driven into Komkrit’s chest.
As the argument intensified, Tor reached for the sharp kitchen knife. Komkrit suffered the critical wound before his younger brother fled the scene. Later, rescue workers reached him and delivered immediate first aid. Even so, the injury proved too severe for medical personnel to overcome.
At the same time, the police pursuit moved quickly beyond the house. Officers circulated the interception request without delay. Before long, police found Tor on the Rim Ping–Nong Tong Road. He was then arrested and taken into police custody.

As part of the investigation, officers began reconstructing the brothers’ movements before the stabbing. Police placed Komkrit drinking with friends immediately before the confrontation. They also placed Tor at the house during the argument and knife attack. His later statement described his anger, the stabbing and his escape.
Crucially, the account came from Tor’s initial questioning after police arrested him. It described a sudden row driven by fury over their dying mother. The dispute moved from a reprimand to fatal violence during the same encounter. Komkrit never recovered from the deep wound to his left chest.

The killing occurred in Sri Don Tan within Makheua Chae subdistrict. Lamphun is a northern Thai province, while the arrest occurred in its main district. Following the stabbing, police traced Tor to another location in Mueang Lamphun. His red motorcycle remained a central feature of the fast-moving search.
Ultimately, the September 1 confrontation left one brother dead and another under arrest. Komkrit died at 31 after rescuers failed to overcome his severe chest wound. Tor remained in police custody after admitting to the stabbing during initial questioning. Their terminally ill mother remained in hospital as police pursued the case.
