Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has mocked the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing him as the ‘president of social media’ who is unfit to rule Nigeria.
Wike stated this on Saturday during a town hall interactive meeting with stakeholders in Rivers.
He said that Peter Obi only makes noise on social media without any tangible achievement to show for his time as governor.
“You are president of social media. You cannot rule Nigeria with social media,” Wike said.
He argued that governance requires experience, capacity, and proven track records, which he claimed Obi lacks.
Wike further stated that those promoting Obi on X, Facebook, and Instagram will not be there to help him govern if elected.
According to him, Nigeria needs a leader with practical experience, not one who relies on online popularity.
At the time of filing this report, Peter Obi is yet to respond to Wike’s comments.
