On Tuesday night, the Dallas Wings are set to take on the Atlanta Dream, looking to build off of their narrow victory over the Indiana Fever in the season opener. The match was back and forth throughout the four quarters, as the Fever started to pick up steam down the stretch. But a six-point effort from Alanna Smith in the closing quarter, and a crucial mess from Kelsey Mitchell would give the Wings their first victory of the season.

Saturday afternoon’s match wasn’t just the start of the season for everyone; for the Wings’ Azzi Fudd, it was the start of her WNBA career. Fudd was taken with the first overall pick in the 2026 WNBA draft by Dallas, following her stint with her time at UConn.
Given her pick status, there was some hype around the 23-year-old, but her debut wasn’t her best outing. Fudd took to the court for a little over 17 and a half minutes, in which she would drain a shot from beyond the arc, ending her night with three points, a steal, and an offensive rebound to her name.
While fans may have been looking forward to seeing the 23-year-old appear on Tuesday night against the Dream, that might not happen given that Fudd has been listed as “probable” due to an issue with her right knee, as reported on the WNBA’s injury report.
