The Kentucky Wildcats cruised to a win on Saturday afternoon, knocking off the Youngstown State Penguins and picking up Will Stein’s first win as head coach. Now, they will turn their eyes to a big fish as they welcome the Alabama Crimson Tide to Lexington.
The Cats were down a few starters on Saturday, and according to Will Stein, they should be good to go next Saturday. After missing both starting corners Hasaan Sykes and Terhyon Nichols, Stein has this to say about their absence and return:

“Just stuff that they kind of dealt with over the last month or so, you know, fall camp blues a little bit,” said the Kentucky head coach. “I’m expecting Hassan to be out there next week, and we will see on Terhyon’s status, but Hassan should be ready to roll.”
That positive injury return also applies to starting right tackle Malachi Wood, who was also held out.
Malachi will be ready to roll (against Alabama). He really could have played (against Youngstown State),” said Stein. “He kind of got tangled up a little early in practice on Monday, which was a complete freak deal. Nothing structurally wrong, just had some bruising in his calf and we said, you know what, we feel like Olaus (Alinen) can go out and play this game.”
In addition, the Wildcats appeared to make it out of Saturday without anyone getting injured, so they could be about as healthy as you could hope for in Week 2.
The Cats will need all the help they can get on Saturday to knock off the Tide. Let’s hope we get to see all three players take the field.
