Watch: Jelly Roll’s Wife Bunnie Xo Details Choking Side Effect of Facelift
Bunnie Xo is reminding everyone that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
While shutting down a fan who insinuated looks are important to finding love, the Stripped Down author, who has been married to Jelly Roll since 2016, said a perfect appearance has never been a box she’s looked to check romantically.
“Looks are not everything,” Bunnie wrote in an April 14 column for Playboy. “I’ve never dated a man for their looks. I’ve always dated a man for how he made me feel.”
In fact, the 46-year-old—who coparents Jelly’s kids Bailee Ann, 17, and Noah, 9, from previous relationships—went so far as to say it’s a bad thing to wager a person’s physical features into any romantic equation.
“If a woman is only dating you for your looks, you need to find another woman,” she continued, “because looks fade, especially when you get older. If you’re going to grow old with somebody, not everybody’s going to be hot when they’re old.”
As for what should be important? Bunnie (real name Alisa DeFord) advised, “Make a woman laugh.”
And Bunnie is practicing what she preaches. As her husband Jelly (real name Jason DeFord) continues his weight loss journey, she gently pushed back on a fan who said the “Wild Ones” singer had gotten “so hot” after shedding over 120 pounds last year.

“He’s always had the same heart,” she told fans on TikTok in September. “He’s always had the same soul. I think the most appropriate thing here to say is that he looks so much more healthier now that he’s lost weight.”
Indeed, the Dumb Blonde podcast host emphasized that people need to stop living in “a Shallow Hal world,” referring to the Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow-led rom-com.
“You know what, you might miss out on the best love of your life by judging somebody by their weight,” she argued, adding of her husband, “He’s been that dude. I’ll forever be cheering him on no matter what weight he is.”

And they remain committed to each other.”Who knew that us breaking up in 2018, me moving back to Vegas & you coming to get me back – would have put us on this wild journey called life,” Bunnie wrote on TikTok in February 2023. “We finally committed to each other & did everything we promised each other the first night in 2016. Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground. I yuh you so mushhh.”
