Ben Cutting established himself as a cult hero at Sunrisers Hyderabad with his match-winning performance in the final of the IPL 2016 season.
Cutting’s all-round performance against RCB in Bengaluru helped SRH win their maiden IPL title as he broke thousands of RCB hearts.
After David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan gave SRH an excellent start, the middle-order crumbled a bit as RCB bowlers were looking dangerous at one point. However, it was Yuvraj Singh and Ben Cutting’s knocks of 38 and 39, respectively, that helped SRH post a total of 208.

Then, while defending the total, Cutting took two wickets for 35 runs in his four overs as SRH restricted RCB to 200 runs in 20 overs and lifted the trophy.
As RCB returned to Ahmedabad to defend their title in 2026, some fans on social media spoke about Cutting’s epic performance that denied RCB the title in 2016.

Washington Sundar, though, proved to be the only headache for RCB as he scored an unbeaten half-century and helped GT post 155 runs on the board.
After Sundar’s brilliant knock with the bat under pressure, the GT fans would hope that the off-spinner weaves his magic with the ball too and miraculously win GT the title with an all-round performance like Ben Cutting from 2016.

‘Streets won’t forget’ is a popular term used by football fans to describe a player who achieves cult status in a team with a memorable performance in a particular tournament or a season.

However, in most cases, those performances are one-off flash-in-the-pan moments as they fail to maintain consistency. Ben Cutting did not really produce any more memorable moments after that IPL final performance, however, SRH and IPL fans will forever remember Cutting.
