Watch: Charlie Sheen Reveals Why He Hasn’t Reached Out to Jon Cryer Since ‘Two and a Half Men’ Fallout
Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer don’t exactly have a winning relationship these days.
Despite both appearing in 2025’s aka Charlie Sheen, Sheen said he still has not been able to connect with his former Two and a Half Men costar since the docuseries’ release.
“I don’t like to bother people,” the actor admitted to People in an interview published April 24, explaining how he would tell reporters that he’ll reach out to Cryer but “never do.”
“But I think Jon would be open to that,” the 60-year-old continued. “Jon’s a lovely man and a very talented guy.”
Still, he’s grateful that Cryer, 61, took part in his documentary, which included detailed accounts about Sheen’s life from his family, friends, exes and former castmates.
“It was very sweet, very cool that everybody showed up like they did, because they could have easily said, ‘Go f— yourself. I’m not interested. I lived it. I don’t need to talk about it again,'” Sheen shared during a recent panel discussion about the project, per People. “And I would have been, ‘OK, that’s fine.’ But they didn’t, and they stepped up.”
At the same panel, the Spin City alum playfully acknowledged that Cryer’s relationship with him has been “a little grudgy.”
“Jon’s not here tonight, is he? No,” he told the crowd. “I’m like, ‘Dude, what the f–k? I got over it. What are we doing, Jon?'”
Indeed, Cryer severed ties when his costar was fired from Two and a Half Men in 2011 after eight seasons. At the time, Sheen accused Cryer of being a “turncoat, a traitor, a troll” for not reaching out amid his battle with drug addiction.
The show went on without Sheen for three more seasons, with their costar Angus T. Jones continuing his role and Ashton Kutcher joining the cast.

“The day he got fired, my publicist said, ‘Well, do you want to put out a public statement because you guys were so close?'” Cryer recalled on a 2015 episode of The Meredith Vieira Show. “And I was in the midst of writing the public statement—’it’s been an honor to work with Charlie all these years’—when my publicist said, ‘Oh wait, oh wait. It’s just come over the wire. He’s called you a traitor, a turncoat and a troll.’ And I was like, ‘OK, let’s put a pin in that statement of support.'”
And while Sheen eventually got sober, he and Jon did not reconcile.
“We don’t have a relationship anymore,” Cryer shared in a 2025 episode of Club Random With Bill Maher. “I wish him the best. We have some mutual friends still, and I’ve heard he’s been sober for a while, which is great to hear.”
