The Chicago White Sox have not been a great team in the last few years, as the once highly-touted roster has been torn apart since a strong 2019 season.

This year, however, there are a lot of things to like about the White Sox. Munetaka Murakami is their top storyline and very likely to be an All-Star this season.
But, as Levi Weaver of The Athletic predicts, this season might finally be the year the White Sox snap an embarrassing All-Star streak that they’ve had for the last few years.
“I predict that he’ll be one of …more than one (?) White Sox players to be named to the AL All-Star roster,” Weaver writes. “That’s significant because the White Sox haven’t had more than one All-Star since 2022, when shortstop Tim Anderson and reliever Liam Hendriks – neither of whom is currently in the big leagues – represented the team.”

Weaver is predicting that the White Sox, for the first time since 2022, will send more than one player to the All-Star Game.
Murakami is an obvious candidate for this nod, as he has 19 homers and is one of the most fun players in Major League Baseball so far in 2026.

But, he’s not the only hitter who could make the All-Star team. Miguel Vargas and Colson Montgomery are both strong candidates for an All-Star nod. While they might not be starters, they are at least deserving of bench nods this season.
Those three are strong All-Star candidates, but arguably the biggest one is pitcher Davis Martin, who has a 2.04 ERA this season with a 7-1 record.

Martin, Murakami, Montgomery, and Vargas are all strong contenders for an All-Star game nod. If two of those players earn a spot, they will have snapped a streak of four seasons without sending more than the minimum one representative to the All-Star game.
