Watch: Beta Blocker Bombshell: Summer House’s West Wilson Reveals Reason for His Reunion Calmness
As the Summer House reunion heated up, West Wilson remained cool, calm and collected.
Which is why after fans pointed out that West seemed shockingly serene while being grilled about the fallout from his newfound romance with Amanda Batula during the Bravo series’ season 10 reunion, host Andy Cohen asked West point-blank the question on everyone’s mind.
“No offense, are you on a bunch of beta blockers or what?” Andy asked him during the June 9 episode. “Everybody’s so emotional around you about you and your relationship, and you’re like this. I’m just curious what’s going on.”
While West initially insisted, “I’m trying to stay composed as much as possible” amid the drama, his ex and Amanda’s former BFF Ciara Miller quipped, “Or you’re just a sociopath.”
Ultimately, the 31-year-old confirmed he took prescription medication to help calm his nerves before the explosive confrontation with his costars.
“I took a beta blocker,” he admitted. “I don’t know if that’s why I’m not sobbing in this moment. This matters to me. I apologize if I don’t read emotional enough.”
The sports journalist also pointed out he didn’t make an effort to console his ex-best friend Jesse Solomon—who was visibly crying over West’s betrayal—because Carl Radke was seated between them.
“If I was sitting where Carl is,” he noted, “I’d wrap my arms around him. But I don’t know if that’s wanted.”
The harrowing line of questioning continued with Andy asking Amanda if her secret romance with Ciara’s ex was worth ending her cast friendships over, to which the 34-year-old replied, “That’s an impossible question to answer in this moment.”

Meanwhile, West confirmed they aren’t in love at this stage in their courtship, which they insist began in February 2026 after Amanda’s breakup from Kyle Cooke, but they are exclusively dating.
“We are not using the word ‘love’ right now,” West clarified. “It’s been two months, three months.”
Amanda echoed, “It’s too early,” while West promised, “I’m very much committed to this relationship.”

The special concluded with Ciara vowing to put the drama—and her costars’ betrayal—behind her once and for all.
“I think in some ways it’s cathartic,” Ciara told Andy, “and nice to be able to move on with my life.”
