The 54th annual West Reading-Sacramento Basketball Cultural Exchange will take place June 7-14 in Berks County.
A team made up of 10 players from Franklin High School and Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, Calif., a Sacramento suburb, will play a series of games and conduct a clinic in the area. The traveling party also will visit attractions in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and New York City.

After arriving Sunday, the team and its three coaches will meet with residents of the Highlands at Wyomissing Monday at 10 a.m. for a panel discussion and breakfast before heading to Washington to visit tour sites.
The California team will play its first game against Gov. Mifflin Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Gov. Mifflin Athletic Community Center before attending the Reading Fightin Phils’ game against Portland at 7 p.m.
On Wednesday, the California team will play two games at Gov. Mifflin against Exeter at 11 a.m. and against Wilson at 1 p.m.
California players and coaches will present a youth clinic at 10 a.m. Thursday at the West Reading Playground.

They will play three games later Thursday as part of a showcase at Berks Catholic’s Lloyd M. Wolf Gymnasium, facing Bishop McDevitt at 4 p.m., Cedar Crest at 5 p.m. and Berks Catholic at 7 p.m. Bishop McDevitt will meet Cedar Crest at 6 p.m.
California will play its final game on the trip against Wyomissing at the West Reading Playground Friday night at 6. The team will travel Saturday, June 13, to New York to visit the 9/11 Memorial, Wall Street and Rucker Park before visiting Philadelphia tourist sites on Sunday, June 14, and returning to California.
Former Reading High stars Stu Jackson and Donyell Marshall and former Wilson star Stevie Mitchell are among the 500-plus local players who have participated in the Exchange.
Longtime NBA players Bill Cartwright and Kevin Johnson are among the Sacramento players who have participated in the event.
