The Falcons took a major step closer to their fourth district title in the past five years after overwhelming the Panthers on the road. Heritage and Jensen Beach each entered the night undefeated in district play.
“I’m proud of the boys for playing their hearts out and not worrying about the outside noise,” Falcons head coach Tim Caffey said.
Jensen Beach’s formula for success begins with its defense, as the team has not allowed more than three points in any of its five wins.
“They’re relentless,” Caffey said. “They talk, they communicate, they play for each other, and we got some talent out there, obviously.”

Kellen Farro, Marcus Rogers and Jalen Webley were among the defensive standouts, according to Caffey. Webley also had a productive night offensively, as the Gardner-Webb commit caught two touchdown passes from Dre Lott. Lott added a rushing touchdown, as did Alex Thornton.
Jensen Beach improved to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in district play. The Falcons will play their final two district games at the Birdcage.
Coming off a disappointing effort against Treasure Coast, the Panthers put together their biggest win of the season in a road rout of the Jaguars.

“We did play more disciplined football, just executing the plays that were called,” Westwood head coach LaDaris Vann said. “We have a chance to win every night, but the guys just got to stay focused no matter who the opponent is.”
Jermaine Walker threw two touchdown passes, while Tyrell Jackson added a touchdown pass of his own. Trey Simmons scored twice. Elise Pierre added a rushing touchdown, and Jakeim Ellison returned a punt for a score.
After missing last week’s game against the Titans, junior defensive lineman Amar Greene led a defensive unit that did not allow a point.
The Panthers’ performance came on the heels of a challenge Vann issued to his players during the week.

“Play like you care about your coaching staff, play like you care about your teammates. That was the challenge I put out to them this week.”
Forcing numerous turnovers, the Lions delivered their best defensive effort of the season in a district home victory over the Sharks. It was the fewest points Legacy has allowed this season.
“The defense played lights out tonight,” Lions head coach Vinnie DeAguila said.
John-Wesley Dilus provided Legacy’s top defensive highlight when the senior defensive end scored on a 35-yard interception return. The Lions also forced multiple strip sacks, with recoveries by Anthony Brown and Blake Fetzner.

Rogan Mimnaugh connected with Khehan Williams for the Lions’ other touchdown.
Sebastian River (0-7, 0-3 district) also played well defensively. Leroy White and Michael Pappas each intercepted a pass, while the Sharks added a fumble recovery and a safety. However, the visitors could not generate enough offense.
“Offensively, we just can’t find consistency and just wasted opportunities,” Sharks head coach Tony Perry said.
Both teams will be on the road for district games next week. Legacy (3-4, 2-2 district) travels to Jensen Beach, while Sebastian River visits Fort Pierce Westwood.

The Patriots scored 48 points for the second consecutive week in another convincing victory. Master’s Academy blanked a Legacy Charter team that has yet to score this season in a road rout.
“Another very good ball game by our boys tonight. They have worked hard and improved in all aspects of the game,” Patriots head coach Stephen Boyer said. “Today, we did a good job of limiting turnovers and ran the ball extremely well. Our physicality has been getting better and better each week, which is definitely making a difference.”
Five of Master’s Academy’s touchdowns came on the ground. Troy Borcheller accounted for two rushing touchdowns and one receiving score. Meanwhile, the defense collected three interceptions.

The Brahmans snapped a five-game losing streak after leading throughout their road victory over the winless Bulldogs.
Okeechobee (3-5) built a 12-0 halftime lead and added two fourth-quarter touchdowns to seal the win.
“This was definitely much needed,” Brahmans head coach Antwan Blatch said. “The kids came out and played hard, and we executed a lot better and were more efficient this week than we have been in previous weeks.”
Sophomore quarterback Chris Sneed threw two touchdown passes to senior wide receiver Armani Jenkins, while senior running back John Immerfall and freshman running back Elijah Gordon each scored rushing touchdowns.

Blatch singled out Jawon Davis, saying the sophomore outside linebacker led the team’s defensive effort.
Okeechobee plays at 7 p.m. Friday at Bayside.
In a matchup featuring the top two teams in Region 4-1A, the Rams could not keep pace with the Titans at McGuire Stadium.
It was John Carroll’s first home loss of the season, but head coach Mickey Groody was pleased with his team’s effort against one of the state’s best teams. True North entered the night ranked No. 39 in Florida.
“That’s a very good football team,” Groody said of the Titans. “Hats off to True North. And I’m excited for our guys. The great thing about football is that you can’t sit around and sulk and feel bad for yourself because we got to get back to work next week.”

Statistics were unavailable for John Carroll (5-2), which will welcome another Titans squad to its home field next week. The Rams host Treasure Coast at 7 p.m. Friday in Fort Pierce.
The Eagles’ losing streak reached six games after they were shut out on the road by the Tigers.
St. Lucie West Centennial has not scored in its past four games.
Facing difficult circumstances throughout the season, Eagles head coach Alfred Yates said the team’s main goal is staying together over its final three games.
“There’s been so many downs, the minute one thing goes bad, we just sink instead of growing together,” Yates said. “That’s what I’m looking for with this team being so young and us not having the numbers. We just have to learn to keep fighting.”

Centennial (1-6) plays at 7 p.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy.
Strong special teams play and a few solid defensive moments were not enough to overcome offensive struggles as the Pirates fell to the Panthers.
“A lot of mental mistakes is what happened this time around,” Tradition Prep head coach Shannon Skelton said. “We’re a young team, so we’re struggling through the battles of that.”
Ethan Lopez returned a kickoff for a touchdown for the Pirates’ lone score. Tradition Prep also stopped Coral Springs Charter on fourth down multiple times. However, the Pirates were held to single digits for the fifth time in seven games.
