The top six spots in the Sentinel’s Super 16 Coaches Poll remained the same this week, and DeLand continued its unanimous streak at No. 1 for the third straight week..
The Bulldogs have been the No. 1 choice in all six weeks this season, including the preseason poll, and have been the unanimous choice four times. DeLand, coming off their second straight shutout 43-0 against Deltona, received all 10 first-place votes this week. Coaches cannot vote for their own teams.

DeLand is followed by TFA, Jones, West Orange, Seminole and Bishop Moore in the top six spots.
The remaining slots in the Top 10 were all jostled this week, with Oviedo moving up three spots to No, 7. Lake Nona dropped one spot to No. 8. Evans, despite losing at St. Augustine 24-20, moved up from 11 to No. 9. And Edgewater dropped a spot to No. 10.
Week 5 Football Rewind: TFA scares IMG; Seminole, West Orange still unbeaten
Lake Mary fell out of the Top 10 to No. 12 this week after losing to West Orange 36-13, and is tied with Osceola. Unbeaten Innovation (5-0), an FHSAA Independent League member, joined the Super 16 for the first time, debuting at No. 15 after routing Freedom (Orlando) 52-0. Winter Park, after losing to Dr. Phillips 19-16, fell out of the rankings.

There is one other undefeated team that has not cracked the Super 16. Gateway of Kissimmee moved to 4-0 after defeating Poinciana 17-7, but the Panthers are still among the others receiving votes.
District play opens for the majority of teams this week with marquee matchups featuring No. 1 DeLand hosting Spruce Creek, No. 4 West Orange at No. 10 Edgewater, No. 11 St. Cloud at No. 8 Lake Nona, and No. 14 Lake Brantley at No. 13 Lake Mary.
No. 2 TFA is idle this week, but the Royals will face off at home against Cocoa for the Class 2A District 5 championship in two weeks, Oct. 2. TFA and Cocoa are the only teams in the district and the winner gains an automatic berth into the FHSAA playoffs.
