The Indianapolis Colts are one of 11 NFL teams with a 2-2 record, but are “average” squads made the same?
They posted a 17-point win in Week 4, their largest since Week 8 of last season. That’s impressive, right?

We-e-ell …
The NFL power rankings aren’t convinced, placing the Colts low among .500 teams.
Turnover prone?: In 2025, Daniel Jones was one of the NFL’s best under pressure. Not right now
“The Colts went to London and didn’t have to do much to beat up on the undermanned Washington Commanders. But there’s rising concern about Daniel Jones, who completed 19-of-34 passes for just 143 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in his return from an Achilles injury.”

“Following an 0-2 start, the Colts have fought their way back to .500. While that might look good on paper, the quality of those two wins is questionable at best. This team has far too much money tied up in key positions at quarterback and on defense, and it hasn’t gotten the desired return thus far. That might be the key to getting this season back on track and back into the playoffs.”
“Injuries at receiver have been an issue. Missing Alec Pierce changes how defenses approach the Colts, without the threat of big plays downfield. Still, Daniel Jones looks much worse than he did last season, and it’s fair to wonder if his Achilles tear plays a part in that. He still has the support of Colts coach Shane Steichen, who said Jones is doing a good job.”

“The Colts needed some schedule breaks after facing the Ravens and Chiefs to open the season. They got them from the Texans and Commanders with Jonathan Taylor and the defense making it easier on Daniel Jones. Getting the Steelers and Titans next can keep Indy hot.”
“At 2-2, they have righted things after opening 0-2. They wised up in the victory over the Commanders and gave the ball to Jonathan Taylor.”
“Shane Steichen’s squad isn’t close to where it was before last season’s second-half collapse. Quarterback Daniel Jones was a huge part of that early success. He’s been part of the problem to start this season despite the two-game winning streak.”

“Maybe they should pack the Mayflower trucks (ships?) for Europe given they’ve won three in a row in the Old World, which the NFL seems ready to make its new frontier.”
“Can they win enough games to steal a wild-card berth?”
“I don’t really care what happens to this iteration of the Colts, but following the Sauce Gardner trade last year, literally the only sensible follow-up is to continue pouring resources into this team and trading for Colts legacy son Marvin Harrison Jr.”
